A downloadable game for Windows

Space Invaders clone.

Alien Invasion.

Survive against an onslaught of alien waves. This game uses only the mouse for the reason of having precise movement and speed, the use of only two buttons.

Right button (Mouse) will fire your regular lasers. Holding the button down will have little effect.. you will have to constantly press it.

Left button (Mouse). Once you have picked up the barrier or rocket item floating around. It will give you a random number to use. Click the left button to place the barrier and replenish lost defences.. with the rockets, simply point at the enemy and the rocket will fire away from the player towards the enemy. If any enemy is front of an enemy you clicked on, and is in the path of the rocket, it will be destroyed.

Other pick ups include a bomb, when shot, will explode with a massive radius destroying anything in the way. An atomic bomb will also appear, once shot, anything and everything on the screen from enemies to bonuses will be destroyed and bonuses given to the player.

Once both the defence and rockets have been picked up, both will fire at the same time. You should probably quickly use them, also they will not stack, if you have 5 rockets and pick up another object with 1 rocket given to you.. you will lose those rockets. So use your defences and rockets often.

You can press ESC at anytime on your keyboard to return to the title menu to switch player.

UPDATES TO COME:

Player death animations. Player death counts redone. Alien sprite changes. Even faster alien smooth movements.. not sure when.. but I will be making changes to these. As much as id like to make this a two player co-operative, I dont think I will add that just yet.

Ugh, I find it *super uncomfortable* having constantly to press the right mouse button over and over. Why have you decieded the player has to do this?

Also, the explanation screen gives away little information about how to use the bomb and other items, it's not very intuitive.

About the gameplay, what I can tell from hammering that right mouse button for maybe a few minutes, I feel like you should care more about pacing and creating some situations that require relevant player decisions rather than just flooding the screen with enemies over and over. I can see you tried to achieve that with the items (at least I suppose you did), but for the core gameplay, what exactly the player does seems almost irrelevant to me.

Sorry my feedback probably comes over pretty harsh, I can see you put work and effort into the creation. But these points are pretty much fixable. For controls, always make them as comfortable for the player as humanly possible. And if the enemy waves are somewhat configurable for you, you can easily turn it into an engaging gameplay loop (and if it takes some hardcode changes, it's still possible for you!)

Hope this feedback helps! :-)

Thanks for your input Dibaka. Its only the first version, I do have a lot of changes I plan to make. I will change the firing for sure and add a few more bits of information regarding the items. Extra screen for how to use of the item that creates the barriers etc. Also enemy movements will be worked on, roamers that appear to directly rush the player, and random bosses.
